Sustainability at Mantra One Sandy Bay

Here at Mantra One Sandy Bay Road, we are committed to embedding sustainability into every facet of our daily operations. We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.

Dry Amenities

We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities, taking a bold step towards a plastic-free environment. Instead, guests can request bamboo dry amenities by calling room service or visiting our friendly team at reception.

Large Amenities

As part of our ongoing efforts, we have made the proactive decision to move to large format amenities, replacing our single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations. This commitment aligns with our dedication to environmental stewardship and reflects our ongoing efforts to improve sustainability in all aspects of our hotel.

No Plastic Room Keys

We are delighted to share that we do not use plastic key cards for our guest rooms. Eliminating plastic key cards for guest rooms is a commendable initiative towards reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainability in the hospitality industry.

Reducing our Environmental Footprint

At Mantra One Sandy Bay Road, all hotel waste is separated into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste and general waste, minimising our impact on landfill.

In addition, we do not offer daily housekeeping services. We only offer a mid-stay clean for long stays of over 7 days. This aims to reduce the environmental impact of having daily housekeeping services including water usage for linen changes and replacement of towels..

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Muwinina people, the traditional owners of the Land upon which we work, and we pay our respect to Aboriginal Elders; past and present. We respect all Tasmanian Aboriginal people, their culture and their rights as the first peoples of lutruwita.
